Remembering the Star of AVCOE: Pravin Kolhe

In the last blog we saw what happens when engineering becomes both passion and profession! We also introduced you all to a remarkable and exceptional student of AVCOE, Mr. Pravin Kolhe who graduated from AVCOE in 2004!  He is a treasured alumni of Amrutvahini College of Engineering who has won many hearts and has earned respect of everyone around him. We would like shed some more light on this phenomenal student of AVCOE who exudes confidence, intelligence, optimism and perseverance.

Born and brought up in Sangamner, Maharashtra, he enrolled in AVCOE in the 1999 batch of Civil Engineering. His negligence towards studies resulted in backlogs and an year down in the first year itself, which actually brought the best out of him! Being a voracious reader, he then found his inspiration in the book 'Amcha Baap Aan Aamhi' by Dr. Narendra Jadhav. That inspiration took him a long long way right from being the Class Topper in Second and third year to being a Gold Medallist in final year for being the University Topper!
As much as he was good at academics, he was equally active in social and cultural events, participated in NSS, college magazines and also became the General Secretary of college. After his graduation in 2004, he took a job in a private construction company and started studying for further education. He cleared GATE with flying colours and landed at IIT Kanpur. During his stay there, he got many opportunities to meet eminent persons like the then President of India - Late. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

After his post graduation, he determined to stay in India and work for its betterment than working for an MNC or going abroad! He cleared Maharashtra Engineering Service Examination and stood first in the Maharashtra state in Water Resources department. He then joined the same place as an Assistant Executive Engineer. Besides winning hearts, earning respect and accolades, Mr.  Pravin Kolhe has also been bestowed upon with many awards such as:
  • Suryakant Deshpande Memorial Prize
  • K Gokhale Memorial Prize
  • R M Francy Memorial Prize
  • V N Vartak Memorial Prize
  • Dinkar Gokhale Memorial Prize
  • Vishnu Joglekar Memorial

He dedicates his tremendous success to everyone at AVCOE and takes immense pride in being an AVCOEian for it was at AVCOE where the foundation of his career was laid where the transformation began! But, in fact, it is AVCOE who takes immense pride in being the guiding star in the career of such a wonderful and hard working person!
